On May 15th, two senior students had the pleasure of taking part in the Banyule Youth Summit, run by the Banyule Council.
They were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to complete activities run by a representative from the Australian Electoral Commission, as well as participate in round table discussions related to an area of interest.
Topics of focused ranged from education, mental health, equality, sports and recreation and asylum seekers. At the end of these discussions, student groups created recommendations in regards to how we could improve these topics within our local community, which we presented to a number of representatives from the council, as well as state and federal parliament.
It was a wonderful experience in creating tangible change for topics students are passionate about.
