Music Information Night on Tuesday February 27 , at 7.30pm in the Sue Dyet Theatre
At St Helena Secondary College, we believe in educating the whole child and providing musical experiences. We ensure that your child is given every opportunity to develop in all dimensions of educational and human experiences and provide students the opportunity to expand their educational horizons and to take part in a rich and vibrant cultural life of the college. Music at St Helena has a strong tradition of excellence with four concert bands, four jazz ensembles, small instrumental groups, solo performances, as well as VCE music. The music community at St Helena plays a major role in college life.
Our Instrumental music program encourages students to become involved in making good music, making friends, socialising with students in different year levels, and developing confidence in presenting and performing to their peers. Throughout their years in the music program students will perform to the whole school, the wider community, and travel to compete interstate and overseas. We emphasise the development of student leadership and involvement in team environments and the development of self-confidence and sense of ownership and belonging.
